Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing was established in November 2008, as an initiative of Vereniging Aegon. Since June 2012 this collaboration has also been supported by Jo Visser foundation. Both partners are invaluable to Leyden Academy’s mission to improve the quality of life for older people.
We are closely connected to the Leids University Medical Centre. We are partner in the DuSRA-VOILA consortium, on European level we are member of the EIT Health-consortium on several programmes and projects, and internationally, we collaborate with the centres within the International Longevity Centre Global Alliance.
Furthermore, we work together with various local and foreign ministries, municipalities, universities, colleges, fellow institutes, foundations, funds, associations, as well as with elderly care and welfare organizations.
