Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing was established in November 2008, as an initiative of Vereniging Aegon. Since June 2012 this collaboration has also been supported by Vereniging Het Zonnehuis. Both partners are invaluable to Leyden Academy’s mission to improve the quality of life for older people.
We are closely connected to the International Longevity Centre and member of the EIT Health-consortium on several programmes and projects. Also we collaborate with EasyCare Academy, a social impact company focused on supporting personalized care for healthy ageing to enable people to live better as they live longer.
Furthermore, we work together with the municipalities of Leiden and The Hague, Hogeschool Leiden, the Leiden Institute for Brain and Cognition, Leiden University Medical Center, our partners within the Medical Delta-program, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP), TNO, Delft University of Technology, Leiden University and ZonMw.
