Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing was established in November 2008, as an initiative of Vereniging Aegon. Since June 2012 this collaboration has also been supported by Vereniging Het Zonnehuis. Both partners are invaluable to Leyden Academy’s mission to improve the quality of life for older people.
We are closely connected to the Leids University Medical Centre. On European level we are member of the EIT Health-consortium on several programmes and projects. Internationally, we collaborate with the centres within the International Longevity Centre Global Alliance and with EasyCare Academy, a social impact company focused on supporting personalized care for healthy ageing to enable people to live better as they live longer.
Furthermore, we work together with the municipalities of Leiden and The Hague, and universities of Coventry, Delft, Leiden and Copenhangen, as well as with organisations such as Aedes-Actiz, Care&Culture, Dioraphte, Hofje Codde en van Beresteyn, Hogeschool Leiden, Leiden Institute for Brain and Cognition, Maters & Hermsen, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, NutsOhra, Radius Welzijn, RCOAK, the Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP), Sluyterman van Loo, TNO and ZonMw.
