Frans J.G. van der Ouderaa PhD
Frans van der Ouderaa joined Unilever Research at Vlaardingen as a clinical biochemist to work on PUFA metabolism. In 1982 he transferred to Unilever R&D Port Sunlight in the UK, were he was first responsible for the Gum Health (Oral Care) Research programme. From 1985 he was in charge of Unilever's worldwide Oral Care Research, and from 1992-1995 for Personal Products Research at Unilever Research. In 1995 he was appointed to the Management Committee of Unilever R&D Colworth in charge of the Bioscience Division. In 2000-2001 he was a Member of the Board of Unilever's diagnostics company Unipath responsible for R&D. From 2000-2008 he was VP Corporate Research of Unilever and a member of the Corporate Research Leadership Team responsible for its Biology programme. In this period he also served as a member of the Physiological Systems and Clinical Science Board of the Medical Research Council.
He joined the Netherlands Consortium for Healthy Ageing as a Director for Business Development based at LUMC in 2009.
In 2011 he joined the Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing as its Chief Scientific Officer.
