Young Excellence Class (YEC)
Talented students can be invited in an early stage to contribute to the Leyden Academy, by participating in the Young Excellence Class (YEC). By participating medical students can develop their knowledge in the field of geriatrics. The academy can judge their talents, which can result to the admission to the MSc program.
The classes are a platform for discussion of selected papers. The experiences with this Young Excellence Class have been extremely positive, both by students en lecturers. The participation is vivid and enthusiastic.
A class consists of a maximum 20 of students. Students from other universities than Leiden University can also be invited. After their graduation the students will leave the YEC. The first class started in the autumn of 2008.
